Teaching

I do not currently teach at any college/university. Here are my web pages for some of the classes I taught in the past. My intent is to archive these pages the way they were when I taught the class. As a result, some of the links on the pages do not work as they pointed at targets which no longer exist at the college/university where I taught at the time.


Research

My original research interests are in algebra, in particular braid groups and tensor categories. I wrote my Ph.D. thesis under the guidance of Hans Wenzl on low-dimensional simple and unitarizable representations of the braid group B3. I am also interested in bioinformatics and mathematics education.

Here is my mathematical genealogy graph generated by the Mathematics Genealogy Project and the Mathematics Genealogy Grapher. My Erdős number is 4. Or perhaps 3, depending on whether papers that appeared in non-math journals but have significant math content count.

I supervised an REU project in bioinformatics at SDSU summer 2009.
